Notes from the composer:
This is part two of my two-part suite. The first movement is called Sorrow. I haven't yet transcribed Sorrow, but when I do, I plan to release both scores as a set.
When I wrote this piece, I imagined a sunrise. There is a worship song with the phrase "Though the sorrow may last through the night, the joy comes in the morning." The phrase is loosely based on Psalm 30:5, but I wanted to clearly connect where the names Sorrow and Joy come from.
I am encouraged when God brings joy to my heart in the midst of sorrow and it often feels like the sun coming out after a long, stormy night. I hope this piece encourages you.
